Challenge

Project Goals

One of our clients recommended Concealed to the Digital Infrastructure Partners, who reached out to see if we could implement a virtual event platform that needed to be built on short-notice and then expanded over time. As the collaboration evolved, we ended up creating a full re-design of the platform, for a fresher, more on-brand visual.

Design Elements

Project Colours

Color Palette

Digital Infrastructure Partners was looking for a website upgrade that had the existing logo as its color foundation. This meant working with purple and orange, to which we added white and light grey colors for contrast and clarity.

Project Typography

Typography

Work Sans is a delicate font from a big font family, which allows for more dynamism in the pages while maintaining a clean look: the perfect choice for a news-related platform!

Project Illustrations

Illustrations

We created a visual identity with slightly irregular circles that represented the connectivity between all elements present in the network: Speakers, Partners and the Talks between them.

Design

Components

Once we defined the project’s design elements, we created the design system: the set of reusable components that could be assembled together like puzzle pieces to build new, consistent looking pages within the same style.

Tech Stack

This project had a very short timeframe for the MVP (two weeks) so we needed a framework that was simple to use but had powerful builtin features for the project specifity. We chose to work with a Nuxt.js framework powered by Vue.js language that we connected to WordPress's API to manage Articles, News and Opinions. The stack was completed with a custom Ruby on Rails backend with personalized features such as partners management, talks with sessions connected to Twitter API and powerful analytics with custom reporting for partners.
